Why My Chevy Is the Best
I copped a lot of flak when I bought a 1999 Chevy Blazer. To many of my friends it was an impulse purchase and one that showed I had abandoned my eco-friendly ways. These criticisms are partly true because I didn’t even bother to get a car insurance quote, something I always do before I buy a vehicle.

The reason was that I simply fell in love with it at first sight. It was old, large and, well, a Chevy Blazer. Let me explain.
I have never been a person to spend time in the wilderness but when my boyfriend got a job as a supervisor we both realised he would need a vehicle that could reliably take him to work in any weather conditions. Whether there was 5 foot of snow (we live on the side of a mountain), he simply could not have any excuse not to get to work. This is the first reason I fell in love with the Chevy because it is built to be tough.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s not that I am someone who is easily impressed by muscle! Quite the contrary in fact. I have always chosen my partners for their tenderness and sensitivity but this time I didn’t apply the same rules to my chosen motor-vehicle!
I guess there was always something inside me that craved the safety and flexibility of a car like the Chevy Blazer, and when the opportunity arose I just naturally leapt at it. I must admit one of the things I thought about in making this choice was imagining my boyfriend in accident of some sort. I want him to be as safe as possible and the Chevy Blazer is as tough as they come. If you are going to roll a car, this is the vehicle to do it in! Having said that, I think having a vehicle like this makes you less likely to take chances on the road and in fact, this car almost encourages you to drive safer. Let’s face it, you can’t take a fast curve at 60 mph in this type of SUV. You have to really make such decisions whenever the weather turns sour.
One of the other reasons I like the Chevy is that it is extremely roomy. The seats fold down and you can carry a lot of heavy or pieces of furniture or even just a lot of shopping. Because we live in a more remote location this added flexibility made choosing the Chevy a no-brainer.
So, having explained myself to my friends, suffice to say they are now much more accepting of my decision choosing a Chevy. It is the only concession I have not made to my eco-friendly nature, but for practical reasons the choice was one I had to make.
Naturally, I did end up getting a car insurance quote and discovered that I would not be punished for making a hasty decision. The quote was still within my price range and I am happy to say that I have been safely ensconced in my Chevy Blazer for over 3 years now.
